    ONE DAY UNTIL RESOLUTIONS

I won't be making any resolutions on New Year's Eve; I know myself too well for that. However, I will be plotting in my mind how to get the Christmas decorations stowed away in a manner that will allow me to have an organized time of it next year. Yeah, right. . . Chances are I will be again facing tree branches tangled with garland and nutcrackers hanging out with angels. (This year a tree rolled out of the attic and dropped down the stairs in one big PLOP - it was not pretty.)

Already the valentines are up and candy boxes are out. I have always had this problem with Valentine's Day - it comes in the middle of a dreary cold month and nearly naked cupids are all over the place. Scout's honor, when I was in second grade I started feeling sorry for those little guys. And then there's the lace thing . . . I'm not one for frilly things. Actually, I think tartan plaid wouldn't be bad. You could have bagpipers in tartan kilts playing "All Those Endearing Young Charms," but then you'd have the problem of cold knees. Maybe I need to think this through. Wait! What about Valentine's Day in Phoenix? San Diego? Florida? Hmmmm . . . it just might work.
