SUNDAY MORNING SLIDING AROUND - Kendallville

Taking Alison to work out at the hospital wasn't too bad this morning; of course, we were in town on US 6 and Riley Street. The latter was snow covered with and icy slime on it; the former had been partially salted and what a bumpy and humpy ride on pretty substantive slush. It was a little dicier where the salt was melting the stuff on the top layer, forming a water coating over the slush and ice. I suspect the road conditions will be changing rapidly as more salt goes down and the sun comes up. I have no idea what the road outside of town is like, although it got a little worse as we neared the hospital going west.

The computers are down at the hospital and the mayor's truck was out front, so I don't know what the situation is there, other than that they are not on generatiors as of 6:30 am. The lights here in the house flickered about five times before 6 am, but stayed on and have been steady.

Here's today forecast as viewed on the link on the right:
Windy...with freezing rain this morning...changing to rain showers by afternoon. Significant icing possible. High 36F. Winds ESE at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of precip 80%. High of 36.
