It's a good thing that Kendallville is not in India because women widowed there become outcasts, sent off to beg for their food, are expected to shave their heads, wear white. The heck with that.Biswas speaks with a strong voice, but her spirit is broken. When her husband of 50 years died, she was instantly ostracized by all those she thought loved her, including her son.
