    TORNADOES

Storms moved through Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee and other states yesterday. According to news reports the line started in Northeast Arkansas. I lived in that part of that state for about a year in the early 70's and learned a way tornadoes are different in the South. A lot of time, they will come at night - the weather conditions are more favorable then. In Indiana, I am most aware of tornado watches starting in daylight and ending around midnight. In other words, if there were a threat, we usually knew about it during the day and, if we felt it necessary, we could stay up until the watch was over.

The first year in Arkansas, I read about people going to bed on just a regular night and the first hint they had of a tornado was when a siren blew or the roof blew off. That got you thinking.
