    LIZARD DEATH

A little while ago the lizard, Lincoln, died. I would have said "croaked" but remember, he was a lizard and not a toad or a frog. He was named after President Lincoln which was intended to be an honor for the late leader, but it is hard to think of a lizard as noble.

This morning we removed the memento mori - that is to say, the reminders of his death . . . such as the huge tank. Alison scooped out the chips that had originally smelled of cedar, but now had another aroma, and together we took the tank downstairs and outdoors. Going backwards down the stairs was an adventure . . . then we both ran for the bath. oooooooh. Lizard dirt.

    Well, Lincoln. Rest in peace.
